PTFE (Teflon) Tri clover Gaskets
PTFE Tri clover Seals are a very popular Hygienic Fitting due to providing a smooth, non-contaminating internal pipework joint. They are part of a Union that consists of two ferrules which are compressed together using a clamp and a gasket between the two ferrules which provides a tight seal. Tri clamp Seals are manufactured from Teflon and are easy to remove by hand using the single hinge clamp wing nut.
PFTE (Teflon) General Properties
Molded PTFE Polytetrafluoroethylene is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications. It is also known by the common trade name Teflon. PTFE is a superior Seal material not affected by most chemicals. It has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material. Lubrication is less critical and can sometimes be omitted.
Note: Standard Teflon Tri clover seal Temperature rating for gasket material is -73°C to 204°C.
