Stattin Stainless stocks a comprehensive range of Stainless Steel Sch10 and Sch40 Butt Weld Pipe Fittings. This collection includes Welded Pipe Fittings, 45° and 90° LR Elbows, 90° SR Elbows, Equal Tees, Reducing Tee's, Concentric Reducers and Caps. Sizes range from 15NB up to 250NB.

Butt Welding Pipe Fittings 

A piping system using butt welding fittings has many inherent advantages over other forms:

• Welding a fitting to the pipe means that it is permanently leak proof

• The continuous metal structure formed between pipe and fitting adds strength to the system

• Smooth inner surface and gradual direction changes reduce pressure losses and turbulence and minimise the action of corrosion and erosion

• A welded system utilizes a minimum of space

ASTM A403M Specification

This specification covers wrought stainless steel fittings for pressure piping applications. Several grades of austenitic stainless steel alloys are included in this specification. Grades are designated with a prefix, WP or CR, based on the applicable ASME or MSS dimensional and rating standards, respectively. 

For each of the WP stainless grades, several classes of fittings are covered to indicate whether seamless or welded construction was utilised. Class designations are also utilised to indicate the nondestructive test method and extent of nondestructive examination (NDE).

ASME B16.9 Specification

The ASME B16.9 specification covers the dimensions and tolerances of stainless steel and nickel alloy butt weld fittings. The diameter and thickness, as well as the materials, fittings and pipes should match to have proper connection.
